There's a really good article about Coney Island today in the Times by (not surprisingly) Mark Caldwell. Caldwell is one of the few reporters, along with Neil deMause of the Village Voice, Rich Calder of the Post and I would like to think myself, covering Coney Island who has really taken the time to show some of the depth of the issue. On a related note, the little known Brooklyn Eagle probably has the best coverage overall, and Gowanus and especially Kinetic Carnival do a knockout job in the blogosphere, not that anyone cares about my opinion.
Make sure you watch the video, it does a good job of letting Carol Albert of Astroland and Dennis Vourderis of Deno's Wonder Wheel express their opinions of the developments for more than ten seconds.

LEVIK, an 8-year-old on the loose at Coney Island, was ecstatic. He had come to the amusement park this late spring day with his classmates at the Lubavitcher Oholei Torah school in Crown Heights, which had rented Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park for the morning.
